Bio

Samira Kakh worked in Iran, Malaysia, and New Zealand for almost a decade.She graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with a PhD in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) for which she was awarded the Best Postgraduate Award. She teaches English and communication and responses to tertiary student writing. She is best known for her research into writing literature reviews in geotechnical engineering. Her research has focused on second language academic writing and writers and on a range of questions related to plagiarism and academic integrity.   Her passion for learning pushed her to start a second PhD in Applied Language Studies at AUT. In her free time, Samira carries her camera around with humour and curiosity.
